Delegates from almost 13 countries attending the Third Africa Cabinet Secretaries Roundtable Workshop at Bingu International Convention Center were on Monday night treated with a special cultural dinner at Capital Hotel.

In his brief remarks, Chief Secretary to Government George Mkondiwa said the dinner was organised for the delegates to appreciate Malawian food and dances.
“As you are here to discuss serious Government businesses, please also take time to visit places of interest. We have had a hectic day, now relax and enjoy our local food and dances,’ Mkondiwa said upon stressing that the night was not meant for speeches.
The night was characterised by Manganje, Chitelela, Beni and Gule wa Mkulu dances among others and local dishes.
The event reached its climax when President of the council of Cabinet Secretaries Dr. Ernest Surrur almost joined Gule wa Mkulu dance.
In his remarks, Dr. Surrur described Malawians as joyous and welcome people.
“I enjoyed the night. It was quite pleasant and I will leave full of happy memories,” he stated.
Malawi President Professor Peter Mutharika on Monday morning opened the Third Africa Cabinet Secretaries Roundtable Workshop at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) which the country is hosting from 18 to 22 April.
Delegates to the Workshop include Cabinet Secretaries or their representatives and other senior officials from Cabinet Offices of Botswana, Ghana, Lesotho, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Somaliland, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Malawi.
