Illovo Sugar (Malawi) Limited has announced uniformity in sugar prices across the country.

Consumers will pay K534 269.20 per metric tonnes and K10 685.38 per bale for 20 packets of one kilogram of brown pre-pack and K547 084 per metric tonnes and K10 942.68 per bale white pre-pack.
The sugar manufacturer said in a media statement that the uniform sugar pricesis effect from August 1.
“Overall prices of sugar have in light of the development been reduced in the outlying distribution centres and increased at the mill warehouses to allow for subsidisation of transport cost in the distribution of sugar,” said Illovo in a statement.
