Karonga district Hospital and Mlambalala Primary School in Blantyre have become the most recent beneficiaries of TNM’s life-changing Ufulu@50 Promotion, thanks to TNM customers, George Mhango and Morris Jale.

Mhango and Jale are some of the 50 TNM customers that won a total of K100 million in the Ufulu@50 promotion that TNM conducted in 2014 to celebrate with Malawians as the country commemorated 50 years of Independence. Each of the winners was required to choose a social responsibility project of choice worth K2 million, translating to K100 million.
Mhango chose to buy K2 million worth of mattresses as one way of contributing to the quality health service delivery at the hospital while Jale donated his K2m prize money to his former school Mlambalala Primary School in Blantyre for building toilets.
“On behalf of people from this community, let me commend TNM for this initiative which has not only benefit individuals but even the communities, lack of mattresses has been one of challenges being faced by the hospital,” said Mhango.
Whereas Jale 26 said he was happy to give back to his former school as one way of saying thank you.
“TNM promotion has made it possible for me to contribute towards the provision of good learning environment to my old school. The school from the time I was a student did not have good toilet infrastructure, and,” Jale said.
TNM’s Head of Blantyre region David Nyirenda said the handover of the mattresses demonstrates company’s commitment in fulfilling its promises to customers in Blantyre and rest of the region.
“This is a life-changing promotion as prizes are going to worthy causes that will go a long way at community level. The current prize presentation phase demonstrates TNM’s commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility and meeting its obligations under Ufulu@50 promotion,” said Nyirenda
