"In three to four years, a better IFMS will be in place," said Gondwe who said several companies have already shown interest to provide the better and secure IFMS software as opposed to the present IFMS 7 which was easily manipulated and led to the loss of huge sums of tax payers money. Gondwe also said the government has issued top civil servants with new contract letters which have spelt out financial rules and regulations in a bid to avert another cashgate. The top civil servants issued with the new financial rules and regulations include directors of finance and chief accountants. Gondwe also said audit committees in government departments and ministries have been invigorated so that they are vibrant to detect any fraud before it occurs.
