Chinula said this Wednesday in Blantyre during a workshop for casino operators to sensitize them on fraud and anti money laundering law. "Gambling has come here to stay, this is why the government has regulated the gambling industry," she said. She said there were fears that some mafias might hijack gambling for fraud and money laundering hence the need for the operators to register those who use huge amounts of money in the game. "The game itself is good and fair but there might e some people with ill intentions," she said. Chinula said there are also laws that protect people from being fleeced by the operators through the manipulation of the machines. Apart from gambling, the Malawi Gaming Board also regulates lottery and other competitions to make sure that winners are given their prize money.
