The Pakistan Welfare Association on Tuesday donated seven high tech computers at Malawi’s largest referral hospital, Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).

The Association’s Chairperson Shabbir Bheda said they extended their good gesture following a request by the hospital’s management that they are in dire need of the computers.
“We couldn’t do otherwise because all along, we have been looking at KCH as a place where we could assist those that are in dire need of different things at a particular time,” said Bheda.
He added: “For one to appreciates what people seeking medical treatment at the hospital are going through then just come and visit the wards, especially the pediatric, you can cry if you have a heart
and will work for something to share with those who are suffering.”
The seven computers according to Bheda, are made for different seven departments and will be installed by the experts.
Among other things, Bheda said the association is planning to donate 50 benches at the hospital and start a feeding program for about 300 guardians in the next three weeks.
Speaking after receiving the donation, KCH Chief Adminstrator Sipho Nyasulu hailed the Association for the timely donation which he said will help a lot.
“We have had problems with data collection in different wards which resulted into missing some important information for our patients that’s why we thought it wise to seek some assistance from
well-wishers, lucky, the Pakistan Welfare Association responded positively,” he said.
The Association was established five years ago and has so far built three classrooms at Livimbo Community Day Secondary, paying school fees for needy children and donating in different hospitals and health centers among other things.
