Dealmalawi.com shopping website for Malawians launched

A Malawian student and a young entrepreneur, has launched the first ever, online shopping and business site for Malawi called Deal Malawi, operating under the domain dealmalawi.com. Deal Malawi is for everyone; from big companies such as Game or Shoprite to local farmers in the village. Everyone can showcase products online,” said James Tayali, Founder and CEO of Deal Malawi. What makes Deal Malawi unique is that the platform has so many functions for businesses to use, which include online stores where you can post everything that you have in your physical shop, a professional public profile for Business, address and phone numbers to your shop, reviews from your customers, comments on your products, marking items as "sold", "on discount", "Auction" and many more. “ We are currently building the mobile app to help mobile users across the nation. But mobile users can still access our site as they wait for our app since it automatically adjusts itself to fit on different smartphones and its compatible with almost every browser, including Opera, Safari, Android, Firefox and Windows. For those people who have Internet, they can simply go on dealmalawi.com and post their ads or they can send us their ads to our WhatsApp number on (+265882829933). “We also have a service for those who do not have Internet. They can simply send us a text message to our company number (0882829933) and we will upload their ads on the website. They can also come to our offices and we can post their ads using our own computers. This will allow 75% of Malawians who do have Internet to have an online presence and showcases their goods to the Malawi nation,” he sad. So far Deal Malawi web traffic is around 5880 visitors per week that is about 23,520 visitors a month; a great success considering that we just launched four weeks ago. “We anticipate of employing about 150 Malawian youths to help in running the company and to provide customer services to businesses. This means there will be 150 extra jobs to people who are studying Business, Computer Sciences, IT, Journalism, Accounting, law and many business related fields,” said the founder and CEO of Deal Malawi. Tayali was also one of the 19 Malawian students in 2012 who were selected by the US embassy to participate in the United States Achievers Program and he eventually got three scholarships from three top schools in the USA, including UC Berkeley, the number one public institution in the world. He is a recipient of the prestigious MasterCard Foundation Scholarship at UC Berkeley. He also received a recognition award from Queen Elizabeth through the Royal Commonwealth Society in April 2015. Deal Malawi has a great team of seven young programmers and Business leaders; James Tayali student at UC Berkeley (Founder and CEO), Joseph Ngongole (Head of operations, Business student at Polytechnic), Spencer Nundwe (Programmer and student at NACIT – commonly known as DATA), Belief Siveliwa (head of marketing – Entrepreneur), Daniel Kaira (Stduent at College of Medicine), Thokozire Mvula (Accountant- Student at Pact and Clifford Mhone (Finance manager- Student at MCA)
