Blantyre Police Officer in-charge Ellobiam Banda said some of the furniture will go to Chilomoni police station which was burnt by some people few months ago. “Today we are extremely pleased that Macra is taking an interest in helping us with office furniture. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for this remarkable gesture," said Banda. He added: “Macra  has been foremost in lending a helping hand in developmental initiatives too numerous to mention to the people of this nation. Forever, we will never forget your kindness.” On her part,  Macra Communications manager Clara Mulonya , said: “This is not the first time we are intervening in this manner and it shall not be the last as we are continuously committed to not only provide our police with this furniture.” Mulonya also said their organisation thought it wise to help Blantyre police after banging heads on the tragedy that took place at Chilomoni police. "After the police station was burnt by fire they lost all their furniture. When we sat down we said why cant we bail them out with the new furniture," said Mulonya.
